Tecno Mobile Unveils The Camon 20 in Uganda, Reveals Price & Availability

The Tecno Camon 20 series comes in three variants; Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro, and Camon 20 (5G) Premier.

Tecno Mobile on Thursday launched the Camon 20 series smartphones in Uganda. The launch event was held at Ndere Cultural Center graced by Hon. Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister of ICT and National Guidance, as the Guest of Honor.

Launched a year after its predecessor, the Camon 20 series come in four (4) variants however, only three (3) have been available in the Ugandan market. The variants in mention are the Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro, and the Camon 20 (5G) Premier, two of which i.e. Camon 20 and 20 Pro are already available for purchase while the Premier version will be available starting May 20th.

“I’m very happy that I’m officiating the launch of a very important product, the Camon 20 from Tecno Mobile in Uganda,” said Baryomunsi. “I would love to thank Tecno for this product because I believe it’s good for our market. So I officially launch the Tecno Camon 20 phones in Uganda.”

The Camon 20 has been priced at UGX810,000, Camon 20 Pro is priced at UGX962,000, and the Camon 20 (5G) Premier is priced at UGX1,800,000. With Tecno’s partnership with TakeNow, customers can pay for the phones in installments. For the Camon 20, customers are required to pay a deposit of UGX324,000, for the Camon 20 Pro a deposit fee of GX384,000, and UGX720,000 for the Camon 20 (5G) Premier —for you to get the phone and while paying the remaining balance in installments.

All three Camons come with an AMOLED 6.67-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pexels and a 403 ppi density. Under the hood, the phones run on Android 13 coupled with Tecno’s HiOS 13 skin, 8GB RAM which can be virtually expanded to 16GB. The Camon 20 and Camon 20 Pro come with an onboard storage of 256GB while the Premier version has 512B storage all of which can be expanded with a microSD card.

The Camon 20 comes with a Mediatek Helio G85 SoC, the Pro has a Mediatek Helio G99, and the Premier comes with a Mediatek Dimensity 8050. All have an Octa-core processor. The Camon 20, the Pro, and the Premier come with Mali-G52, Mali-G57, and Mali-G77 MC9 GPUs respectively.

The three phones have a trio of rear camera settings — the Camon 20 and Pro have a 64MP (main camera) + 2MP (depth) + QVGA while the Premier version has a 108MP (main camera) + 50MP (wide) + 2MP. While for the front cameras, they all come with a 32MP shooter. All the cameras can shoot videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps) and the Premier version can go as far as shooting videos in 4K with its rear shooter.

The phones are powered by a non-removable Li-Po battery of 5,000mAh and support fast charging.

As for the color options, Camon 20; Predawn Black, Glacier Glow, Serenity Blue, Camon 20 Pro; Predawn Black, Serenity Blue, and Camon 20 (5G) Premier; Dark Welkin, Serenity Blue.
