Embrace Tech or Face Extinction, Advertisers and Marketers Urged

The critical need for individuals and organizations to embrace and adapt to the evolving landscape of technology or risk becoming obsolete.

The Silverback Symposium, an annual gathering of industry leaders, innovators, and advertising and marketing enthusiasts, ignited discussions on the future of technology under the theme “Tech Up or Die.” The symposium, which took place at the Serena Hotel on Friday had key experts address the pivotal role of technology in shaping our world.

In an era of rapid technological advancements, the theme “Tech Up or Die” serves as a call to action, emphasizing the critical need for individuals and organizations to embrace and adapt to the evolving landscape of technology or risk becoming obsolete.

During the discussion, while organizations were asked to embrace technology to ease their service delivery, Ms. Rebecca Mukite the Head of Public and International Relations at the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) emphasized the need to have the right security measures to safeguard organizations as they embrace technology.

The Chairman of the Uganda Advertising Association (UAA) Mr. Frank Muthusi urged organizations to embrace the disrupting technology to improve their service delivery which in turn would uplift the marketing and advertising industry.

“Whereas the technological advancements are immense, and ever-evolving, it’s important that we embrace this technology and use it adequately to improve the work and services we provide,” remarked Muthusi. Adding “We have brought on board experts in communications and technology to discuss at length how best we can uplift our industry so we can compete favorably.”

The Silverback symposium aims to equip and train marketers and advertisers in the industry on best practices benchmarking on evolved markets in the African market such as Kenya and South Africa.
