Tired of Lacing your shoes, meet Nike’s HyperAdapt 1.0

To address a typical athlete distraction and time consuming activity of tying laces, Nike unveiled the first sneakers to use their adaptive lacing technology, at the Nike Innovation Summit. The HyperAdapt 1.0 will be the first shoe to utilize Nike’s adaptive lacing tech that allows the shoes to automatically tighten when one fits their foot into the shoe & activates a sensor around the heel-area.

Wearers will be able to loosen or tighten the shoe further to their preference by utilizing 2 buttons placed on the side. Nike announced that these sneakers will be available for sale to members of Nike+, their own events and products App, around the 2016 Holiday season.

Here’s how the HyperAdapt 1.0 works!

The announcement comes after Nike teamed up with Michael J. Fox to introduce to the world the concept of self-lacing Nike Mags on Back To The Future day in October last year. Now the world just needs to wait on the mass production of HyperAdapt 1.0 to judge the viability of this technology.
