Jumia, the largest retail store in Uganda is celebrating its 8 years existence in the country, and is offering up to 50% discount on its products including consumer electronics like smartphones, tablets, laptops, mobile phone accessories, among others.

The 8-year old online market space is offering the 50% discount rate off every purchase made through their website or mobile app. In addition to their offer, every anniversary month, Jumia launches a Treasure Hunt where a customer searches for a given day’s product for as low as UGX500. And once they find it, they purchase it at that low price. For example a Tecno Camon 15 Air 6.6” that goes for between UGX575,000 and UGX 650,000, under Treasure Hunt can go for as low as UGX500, as long a customer can find it at that low price in the Catalogue.

The anniversary is running under the theme, “Stronger Together” till June 30th, 2020. Here are some of the deals, I have managed to pick out for those taking advantage of the anniversary offer.

While announcing the campaign, Jumia Uganda CEO Mr. Ron Kawamara said the campaign is focusing on offering consumers much needed products at discounted prices and delivering them safely to their homes.

In the wake of covid-19, customers are be able to opt for the ‘contactless safe delivery’ option paying using mobile money. This enables consumers to make prepaid payments for products online and get it delivered without direct body contact or cash exchange with the delivery agent.
