Seedstars Announce 2019 Tour Dates, Schedules Kampala for Oct. 18th

Seedstars World has officially announced its tour dates in search for promising startups around the world that are to compete at its 2020 Seedstars Global Competition in Switzerland.

Seedstars has so far crowned six overall winners since the initiative’s inauguration. The latest winner being an AgriTech Argentina-based startup Blended who won this years competition. Blended is improving communication between schools and families in Argentina.

Seedstars is expected to tour roughly 100+ cities globally with 26 cities from Africa. Kampala (Uganda) tour date is set for Oct. 18th, 2019.

Interested applicants can submit their applications (FOLLOW LINK) not later than Oct. 4th, 2019 at 3am East African Time.

From the submissions, only 8 startups will be selected to pitch in a jury panel and compete to be crowned the most promising seed-stage startup of Seedstars Kampala 2019.

The winning startup will represent Uganda at the finals in Switzerland in 2020 for a chance to win up to USD$500, 000 (approx. UGX1.9 billion) in equity investment and some unique growth opportunities.

Notably, all the 8 startups will be rewarded with one free month of seedstar’s brand new Investment Readiness Program.

Eligibility of Participation
  1. Have maximum 2 years since founding date.
  2. Have a maximum of USD 500,000 of funding to date.
  3. Have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

For the past seedstar competition, Uganda has been represented by; AgroSupply (2019), Numida (2018), Akiba (2017), and Intership UG (2016).
