Telecom companies to create public awareness for national ID registration

Telecom companies are to be used to create public awareness about the mass enrollment of the National ID Registration.

This was reveled by the State Minister for Internal Affairs, James Baba

He talked to officials from different communication companies at Kololo Air strip in Kampala yesterday where they discussed issues concerning the registration for national IDs.

Among those who attended meeting were the permanent secretary in the ministry Internal Affairs, Dr. Stephen Kagoda.

It was agreed that these companies are to use different methods to communicate to people like SMS, caller tunes, and other methods possible to make the the public aware of the registration for the national IDs which starts on April 14.
