How to Make Video Calls on WhatsApp

WhatsApp rolled out the video calling feature to all its users last month in November, joining direct competition with the likes of Viber, Google Duo, and Skype. We believe that with over a billion users using the platform, video calling will most likely become the most preferred video calling option to a number of people.

The feature only works, if the caller and the recipient have the update version of WhatsApp, otherwise it won’t work. All you have to do is update the app to the latest version and you’re good to make video calls.

If the recipient is still using an old version of the app, you get a message saying; “Couldn’t place call. Recipient [name of contact being called] needs to update WhatsApp to receive video calls.”

Here’s how you can make video calls on WhatsApp

Step 1: First you need to have the latest version of the app. So update your app first.
Step 2: Launch WhatsApp and tap the name of the contact with whom you want to initiate a video call. Tap the call button.
Step 3: Once this is done, the app will provide the option to either make a “video call or a voice call.
Step 4: Select the video call option and get started with your call.

Wi-Fi or Mobile Data:
If you’re using Wi-Fi, you will find the video and audio quality very good, but when using mobile data, you will find the connections a bit slowly (Depends on how much mobile data you’re subscribe to).

Conclusion
I personally have tried making a few calls and found out the feature is like-able.[related-posts]
