On Thursday 25th, Online Payment Technology Solutions firm; Flutterwave held a meet and greet event at The Innovation Village where they shared to over 50 startup Founders and merchants how they can leverage Rave – their flagship product – that enables merchants to accept payments from cards, bank accounts, and mobile money.

The product ‘Rave’ is certified by, and meets, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard and is currently been used by over 45,000 merchants in the US, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa.

Handling at least 2 million transactions a month, as Flutterwave claims, among its notable merchants include San Francisco based transportation firm, Uber Technologies Inc.,, and TransferWise.

In attendance of the meet and greet event, were Allan Rwakatungu, the Founder and CEO of Xente, and Solomon Kitumba, the Founder and CEO of Swipe2Pay who gave their opinion about the product (Rave).

Allan commended the product, quote “with Rave we can now easily expand to many countries without costing Xente anything, before then we had to get in touch with partners individually in every country.”

Solomon, said; “It took Swipe2Pay less than 5 minutes to sign up and upload their documents.” He further added, that for a company like Uganda that is looking to empower small businesses to receive payments via mobile money and cards, Rave presents a more efficient and cost friendly way of doing that.

At the same event, Flutterwave announced that any business that signs up with Rave and completes 10 transactions is eligible to receive USD$5,000 (roughly UGX19.2 million) in AWS Promotional Credit valid for 2 years for their Infrastructure Needs. The business will also be eligible for 1 year of AWS Business Support and 80 credits for Self-Paced Labs valued at USD$80 (roughly UGX306,000).
