Samsung’s upcoming smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S9, will have some significant upgrades over the Galaxy S8, according to ETNews via Android Authority. The report claims the S9 will feature Animoji-style 3D emoji which will mimic users’ facial expressions. Furthermore feature dual stereo speakers on the top and bottom of the phone.
According to experts at Mashable, the new speaker setup means users won’t have to worry about accidentally covering up a speaker while playing games or watching videos and interrupting their audio.
Notably, Animoji were one of the most highly anticipated features of the iPhone X, and the S9’s corresponding technology may mean it’s gearing up to be a serious competitor. And if previous rumors of enhanced facial recognition technology on the S9 are true, Samsung’s newest phone could be a force to be reckoned with.
The Bixby Button
Rumors has it that the infamous Bixby button will no longer be featured on Samsung smartphones, however, according to the report, it indicates that the button will remain on the left of the screen. This could mean Samsung is still working towards improving Bixby to the point where it can compete with the likes of Siri and Google Assistant.
The South-Korean firm will unveil the smartphones at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month.[related-posts]
