According to several media reports circulating all over the internet, apparently several Facebook users have complained of old photos and posts appearing on their timeline without their permission.
“@facebook re-posted 3 of my old posts today about hour ago without any action on my part, others are experiencing same issue @sherylsandberg,” tweeted one of the users over the weekend.
Some users have complained that the glitch appeared soon after they updated the Facebook app on iOS. “Hey @facebook, why are you suddenly re-posting my old photos after the last iOS update? Like to do that myself when I think it’s fitting. Tnx,” tweeted another user named @MelleKramer.

The San Francisco social media house is apparently working on this situation. “We are aware of this and are investigating,” a Facebook spokesperson told PCMag.
According to reports by, Gadgets Now, the news comes right after the roll-out of the ‘Facebook 2016 Year in Review‘ video feature.
The feature is a personalized video that automatically compiles key moments from the posts and pictures shared by users on their Facebook account. The video preview is shown on user’s timeline but is not published till it’s edited and allowed to be made visible to others (Public).
