Orange Madagascar has begun testing 4G technology to ensure it is commercially available and ready for launch next year.
Bruno Mettling the Deputy CEO in charge of operations in Africa and the Middle East, revealed that they would first develop 3G network coverage across the island to give broader access before offering Orange customers LTE services.
Michel Degland the new CEO of Orange Madagascar said they will use IT infrastructure and virtualisation systems during the testing period.
During its testing phase some customers received 4G signal on their mobile phones.
The rollout of 4G LTE is expected to happen gradually over the next year.
