Social media giant Facebook doesn’t want anyone to miss out because of old technology.
The company has announced Messenger “Lite” for Android, which is a Messenger app designed for older phones with less memory and less powerful processors.
The App was initially launch in Kenya, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, and Venezuela, but will hit other regions at a later, unspecified date.
The app is similar to Facebook Lite app, and is aimed at users in emerging markets. It uses less data to mitigate unpredictable network speeds.
Messenger Lite can send and receive photos, stickers and links, but there is no communication whether a similar version will be launched for iOS.
