East African Tech Hubs Partner to Support Regional Mobile, Digital Businesses

Outbox hub has struck a partnership with four technology and incubation hubs across East Africa to host a six month accelerator Programme for startups in the region.

Led by Kenya’s m:lab and dubbed ‘Traction Camp’, the programme aims to support the creation of globally competitive, growth-oriented, mobile and digital technology businesses in the East African region.

Participants will be taken through a rapid-cycle competitive curriculum to boost business growth, and matches startups to appropriate capital and business mentors.

Among the hubs participating in the 6 months programme include Uganda’s Outbox, Kenya’s m;lab, Buni in Tanzania, Rwanda’s kLab, and iceaddis in Ethiopia.

According to information from m:lab, the coordinators of the programme, a series of workshops will take place, introducing the programme, planned curriculum, and application requirements.

The first sessions will be held on Wednesday January 25th at kLab in Rwanda, and January 26th at Buni hub in Tanzania.

These will later be followed by two sessions on February 2nd at Outbox hub in Kampala, Uganda  and iceaddis in Ethiopia.
