Google Duo has Over 10 Million Downloads on Android

Google Product Lead for Communication, Amit Fulay in a tweet announced that Google’s one month-old video calling app, dubbed, Duo, hit 10 million users. As well as 10 million downloads.

“Google Duo is over 10M users on Android, thanks for the love.”

Android Police points out that Duo despite hitting 10 million downloads, it has dropped significantly on top charts on Google Play.

The company’s brand new video calling app was launched last month to take on others similar services including; FaceTime, Skype, Viber.

Duo lets people call their phone contacts, shows previews video of the caller letting you decide on whether to answer or not, plus, one of the biggest highlight features is it can work even on low networks.

The company during the launch confirmed that the app also has an end-to-end encryption features, simliar to Facebook’s WhatsApp and Viber. The Duo app is available in all countries where Google Play is available.

Additionally, in other news, Google had also announced the “Allo” instant messaging app for Android and iOS. ……. We shall keep you updated on this (Allo)…!!
