Earlier today, Beijing largest smartphone makers, Xiaomi Corp. announced its maiden VR headset, code named, Mi VR Play.
According to online reports, Xiaomi did a beta testing program in China earlier this month for the VR headset where 1 million people registered in just 8 hours and few were able to buy the Mi VR Play at $0.15 roughly 505 UGX.
The company plans to bring the Mi VR Play in a selection of bold prints and colors.
According a statement released by the company, the headset is ‘wrapped in lightweight, durable Lycra for long-lasting comfort. The differentiating aspect of the Xiaomi Mi VR headset is that it comes with a 2-way zipper which helps with a firm grip on the 4.7-inch to 5.7-inch smartphones.
The Mi VR Play headset will be accompanied by a Mi VR app which is based on an open platform which tends to incorporate extensive library content from various partners.
Xiaomi has not yet announced the pricing for the VR headset. It has said the pricing will be announced at a later date.
