iOS users will soon use Siri to send and read WhatsApp messages

WhatsApp for iPhone may soon allow users to exchange messages and make voice calls with Siri voice commands.

While there is no official confirmation about Siri on WhatsApp, news spread after a purported explanation text spread like wildfire on social media. The leak – which reveals an explanation text that’s shown to users when prompted to give WhatsApp access to Siri – suggests this.

Currently, the usage of Siri is restricted to Apple’s natives apps; but with iOS 10, Siri can be integrated into any third party apps. Once this feature is enabled, iOS users can make calls or send messages directly using Siri. Apart from Whatsapp; Uber and Netflix are also said to integrate Siri into their iOS apps. As of now, there is no information about this same feature for Android users. The iPhone users can also set reminders to call any contact using Siri.
