Earlier this week, photo-sharing app, Instagram, rolled out their new feature Event Channels via the Explore tab for all it’s Android and iOS users. With this feature, users can watch video clips and view photos from live events taking place across the global.
According to Instagram, the newly-added channel will aggregate the best videos of live events around the world, so you can watch them wherever you are.
In other words, you will be seeing video clips taken by other Instagram users at those events. So the video quality may not be the best, and the audio might not be ideal. However, these videos should give you a real sense that you are watching a concert or sports event on your smartphone taken by true non-professionals.
Currently, the Event Channels feature is limited to those living in the US, but the Facebook-owned photo sharing app, says they will roll out the feature across the world sometime soon.[related-posts]
