With ISPs trying their best to get the most internet subscribers on their side by doing all they can, like introducing super combos, night packs, WTF, Midnight Bundles, Happy Hours, Happy Nights, and so forth leaving consumers with no choice, this time around, Frank Tumwebaze, Minister of ICT has thrown a bomb on them.
Following the recent declaration by UN of Internet being a human right, Ugandan Government through the National Information & Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-Uganda) decides to avail all citizens living within the borders of Kampala with free Wi-Fi effective October everyday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This was passed on by Frank during a meeting he carried out with a team of parliamentarians yesterday. The parliament is to ensure that Wi-Fi hotspots are set-up all around the borders of Kampala.
