Huawei took the wraps off the Honor 8, on Monday to unveil its new Honor 8 smartphone during an event in China.
The new smartphone which will be available in China effective of July 19th, 2016 will come in three versions, 299 USD (roughly 1 million ugx) for the 3GB of RAM, 344 USD (roughly 1.1 million ugx ) for the 4GB of RAM and 374 USD (roughly 1.2 million ugx ) for the 4GB of RAM models.
As rumored for weeks, the biggest highlight of the Honor 8 is its dual-rear camera setup. It sports 12-megapixel dual-rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash and also features laser auto-focus.
There is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera on board as well, a USB Type-C port and also supports fast charging, fingerprint scanner at the back of the handset, 7.45mm slim build which comes with a metal frame and a glass back.
Among other specs include; a 5.2-inch full-HD LTPS LCD display, octa-core Kirin 950 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, supports expandable storage via microSD card of up to 128GB, runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, hybrid dual-SIM slot and weighs 153 grams.
The Honor 8 is currently up for pre-orders in China, however, the availability of the smartphone outside China hasn’t been confirmed yet.
