For the first time in years, the world’s biggest video-sharing platform suffered an outage earlier today which lasted approximately 15 minutes.
Users who were trying to access the site were met by an internal server error on the main page with a long line of code along with the text saying, “Sorry, something went wrong.” “A team of highly trained monkeys has been dispatched to deal with this situation.” .
We are not aware of what caused the outage, though a server update is suspected to be the cause due to the new features that are being rolled out.
Among the new features being rolled out is selected countries is ‘Smart Offline which lets users download videos at cheaper night time data rates especially at night, without requiring you to stay up late at night.
