Apple Opens World’s First Training Centre for the Blind in Africa

Apple has opened up the first global training centre for the blind and visually-impaired.

The centre is located in Worcester, South Africa and it seeks to transform how people living with the disability are perceived by empowering them with technological and IT skills for the open labour market.

Apple will provide equipment and software while non-governmental organization Kaleidoscope and the ABSA banking group have invested an initial 3 million rand.

The focus of the centre’s curriculum will be on the use of technology for both personal and business needs.

The Students will be educated on both iOS and the latest Apple Mac operating system.
