Yesterday, Wananchi Group’s Zuku payTV introduced a new package, dubbed Zuku smart pack, will cost consumers a monthly subscription of Shs 10,500.
Jared Makobo, the Wananchi Uganda general manager, said they realized that people have different incomes, hence the need for a low cost package.
The price reduction means more Ugandans will be able to adopt digital migration since the switct off of analogue which started last year.
Zuku customers who subscribe to Zuku smart pack have an option of upgrading to the other banquets of their choice.
Currently, the Pay Tv has over 80,000 subscribers but expect to double the numbers this year.
