BMW, Intel & Mobileye To Develop Autonomous Cars

Source familiar with the matter reports – that the Germany based automotive manufacturing company Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW) is close to unveiling a development partnership for autonomous cars with Israeli collision detection software maker Mobileye and U.S. chip maker Intel.

This is not the first time we have companies that want “Autonomous Cars”, we’ve probably heard of many giant companies that are doing their best to develop these cars. Companies such as; Google, Nokia, Toyota, Ford, Uber, Microsoft to name few. Nokia in 2014 invested $100 million in automotive technology and services while Japanese automotive manufacturer, Toyota Corp. later this month announced its target of developing driver assistance systems that integrate Artificial Intelligence to improve vehicle safety in the next five years.

However, Google and two ride-sharing companies; Ford and Uber also didn’t just seat back on this idea, the three companies formed coalition to urge federal action on self-driving cars in April this year.
