ThoughtWorks setting up office in Nairobi after shutting down in Kampala

ThoughtWorks, the Global software development and training firm is set to open a new office in Nairobi, Kenya this November after it shut down its Africa office in Kampala last month.

ThoughtWorks is looking at setting up an office in Nairobi in November to serve the entire continent.

According to TechMoran, Thoughtworks Pan-African MD Wambui Kinya said, “We closed because of our pan-African vision. We were not doing as well in Kampala and we wanted a presence for us to navigate our presence in Africa from Uganda, so we took a tough decision and close our Uganda office.”

Thoughtworks is committed to its Pan-African dream and the closure of its Ugandan office doesn’t mean the firm is pulling out of Africa totally but the firm is strategically positioning itself to impact the entire continent than just one country.

“Majority of our team was moved to other offices in over 29 countries. We are in the process of registering our entity here in Kenya and even as we closed Uganda, we are looking at opportunities in West Africa and several other countries to see how well we can serve Africa.” Wambui Kinya continued.
