HP set to Launch Streaming Service

In order to attract more sales, Hewlett-Packard has announced that it is getting into the streaming music business. However, it is not going to do so on a large scale.

The streaming service named HP Lounge will only be available to those who buy a new HP computer, and will have a price tag of $0

The PC maker has partnered with Universal Music Group to offer one year of free music to any new customer in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

HP Lounge listeners will be able to search for what they want based on the artist, mood, or genre, all of which will then launch a station based around that first choice.

HP Lounge will also offer other music-related content, including interviews with Universal’s artists, videos, news, photos, and the like.

After the first 12 months, users will pay a yearly subscription fee of about $5.
