Google Officially Discontinues it’s Nexus Series, Removing it from it’s Stores

During the launch of the Pixel and Pixel XL, search engine giants, Google Inc. confirmed it’s Nexus series smartphones are being put to rest, confirming that no more Nexus products will be launched in the future, and that the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P were last of the smartphones launched in the Nexus series, Gadgets 360 news reports.

A Google representative confirmed to Gadgets 360 that no more Nexus devices will launch from this point on. Furthermore, existing devices have been pulled from the Google Store in the US. At the time of writing, no Nexus products were listed on the Google Store, and the new Pixel smartphones were highlighted instead.[related-posts]

Google earlier this year, reported begun getting rid of it’s Nexus series smartphones, and later in May, the company discontinued it’s Nexus Player removing it from all it’s Google Stores as well.

During the event as Gadgets 360 reports, Google’s SVP of Hardware; Rick Osterloh, also confirmed that all smartphones from Google will don the ‘Pixel’ brand moving forward.

Price and release date for the Google Pixel and Pixel XL:
The smartphones are already up for pre-order in the US, UK, Canda, Australia, and Germany, with an expected release date of October 20.

Google Pixel specifications
The Google Pixel and Pixel XL are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, with two cores clocked at 1.6GHz, and two cores clocked at 2.15GHz. Both the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones will pack 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and sport Pixel imprint fingerprint sensor, sport a 12.3MP rear camera and 8MP front camera.
