Citi Bank Rolls Out Tech for Integrity Challenge

Citi Bank has launched an open innovation challenge to source solutions that promote integrity, accountability and transparency in the public sector.

Dubbed Citi Tech for Integrity challenge, the campaign is a global initiative meant to invite and encourage technology innovators from around the world to create solutions to help public sector entities increase transparency and promote integrity.

The whole campaign was started in December 2016 where integrity pain points were crowd sourced globally to give tech innovators concrete examples of where technology has the potential to promote integrity.

Tech innovators can now apply to the challenge by submitting an application form and one-page document explaining their solutions. Applications are reviewed by Citi and allies for the Accelerator program.

The challenge is open to entries from all over the world for both start-ups and mature technology corporates.

Selected startups and corporates will participate in a world-class virtual accelerator in March 2017, to add value to their proposed solutions where a pilot-ready solution must be showcased. Final submissions will include a 2-minute video explaining the final solution.

Successful innovators will be invited to showcase their working prototypes at live Demo Days hosted by regional governments in April from where finalists will be announced.

The Finalists will then present to an audience of Citi and her ally stakeholders at Demo Days which will take place in Latin America, Asia, Europe and Africa.

Citi has previously organized different challenges aimed tackling different issues including the Data Scientist Challenge in 2015 which aimed at showcasing analytical skills and abilities to solve complex business problems, Smarter Work life challenge in 2016, aiming at improving employee lifestyle and enriching corporate culture while connecting individuals with productive and fullfilling work among others.
