The application deadline for DEMO Africa 2015 has been extended for a month and the new deadline has been set for June 30 2015.
In a statement, Ben White Co-founder and CEO, VC4Africa said, “It’s important to connect with innovators from all corners of the continent. It’s great these regional events are taking place and to connect with communities across the continent. This helps to ensure high quality applications from across Africa.’
The application window had been scheduled to close on 30th May 2015 but because of upcoming mini DEMO Africa events, the organizers say it would be good to meet entrepreneurs to receive feedback on their application and to refine their profiles before the selection committee makes a final decision.
The first mini DEMO Africa will take place in Nairobi June 3 at PAWA254 Studio in Nairobi and a select number of start-ups will be given six minutes each to pitch to a panel of judges made up of ecosystem players. One startup will be nominated at each of the events to get a chance to launch their product at the DEMO Africa stage in Lagos on the 24th and 25th of September.
The DEMO Africa pre-selection mini-events will be hosted in Nairobi, Accra, Harare and Cairo and startups can still apply to join DEMO Africa here.
