NEW RECORD? Kilimall’s 1000 Black Friday orders proof of new dawn for online shopping in Uganda
Last week, Kilimall Uganda set a new record in the number of sales in a single day, receiving more than 1,000 orders within less than 24 hours following a Black Friday promotion that had been running that week. The online shopping mall offered exclusive deals of up to 70% discounts on a variety of items like electronics, home appliances and fashion.
Black Friday is the biggest online shopping day event in the year globally, where overwhelming discounts are offered on goods – and Ugandans were sure to jump on the boat.
Kilimall Uganda offered exclusive Black Friday deals, giving customers ample time to secure their deals in time. Although best of the deals were unlocked on the D-Day.
Kilimall Uganda Managing Director Mr Wang Chengyeng said “We received more than 1000 orders ON FRIDAY with more than 2000 items sold out and over 100,000 unique visitors that day.”
“We only launched our Uganda site 6 months ago, and have reached an unbelievable order number this Black Friday. And are very thankful to all our customers and site visitors.” Mr. Wang added.
Mr Wang attributed the successful Black Friday sales to the affordability and variety of products available on Kilimall. “Kilimall offers global shopping which cuts off the middleman so we can offer high quality products to our online buyers at the lowest prices”. Mr Wang told PC Tech Magazine.
The online shopping mall partnered with a variety of local and international manufacturers for their Black Friday promo like shoe marker Bata, smartphone manufacturers Samsung, Tecno, Huawei, HTC, iDroid, Nokia, LG and many more.
Kilimall Uganda also partnered with Infinix Mobile, to exclusively launch the Infinix HOT 4 and NOTE 3 smartphones at an amazing discount offer. Kilimall will still be the only official online store to sell the Infinix smartphones in the country.
