HTC has joined the legions of tech companies that are revealing new products at IFA in Berlin, after it announced the mid-range HTC Desire 820.
The Desire 820 has an eight-megapixel front-facing camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera. Photography, well consumer camera features, are a big focus for this phone — which includes services that will let you “merge your features with a friend’s or celebrity’s for a modern mashup” (hmm, ok), and another which lets you preview your image while applying changes to smooth out your skin tones.
A third photo-focused feature — Photo Booth — lets you capture a burst of photos, presumably so you can then pick the one that looks best.
HTC says the device is mid-range, but there’s no price yet. Going on the features, it appears to be angled towards youngsters who perhaps can’t afford a top-end device or will find the focus on photos alluring.
The Desire 820 will be available “later this fall” — for now that’s all HTC is saying.
