Uganda Revenue Authority launches new website

Uganda revenue Authority has unveiled a new website. The website which is simply an improved more client -centric web portal with various self-service provisions has been redesigned, has a new look, with new functionalities like the Google map to locate any URA office, the Tax Assistant, Tax Tools, Document Authentications, and many more service.

You can access the portal using the same address  URA says they have added more security features. The security certificate is from Verizon a reputable US based Information Technology Security Company.

The look, the flow and the functioning is different. The changes you will experience have been driven by important feedback from clients URA says.

There has been an advancement in technology behind the portal to allow for more customized changes to suit the taxpayer. For instance, when one logs into their account there is a customized calendar highlighting important dates on the tax calendar. You can change registration details without first coming to our offices like it has been in the past.

The new portal provides access to instant information which clients previously had to either call or go to various offices for. The Google maps will help our clients locate any URA office to the smallest detail including the street and contact person, the telephone number of the person in charge and very soon the facial identification.

The redesigned web portal also has better integration of twitter and face book. The Tax Assistant functionality is incorporated with calculators to computer your Domestic Taxes and Customs tax liability with so much ease. The PAYE calculator will for instance enable clients know how much they should be paying. Going forward, our clients should expect great service and more developments to enable them pay their taxes much easier.
