Sexting and Sending Nudes Can now Land You in Jail

sextingBefore you send that image, know that there is a possibility of spending up to three months in prison if caught by Authorities! Sexting habit has risen to alarming levels on WhatsApp, Google chat, Facebook among others.

The Star reports that Sexting or sending obscene messages in Kenya could land you in prison.

This was revealed by Christopher Wambua from the communications authority of Kenya.

He said sexting is an offence and one can be fined up to Sh5,000 or be jailed for not more than 3 months.

According to the government, exchanges of obscene, nude personal pictures and adult content sites on smart phones rose by over 60% last month.

Director of public communications Mary Ombara said the habit rose to alarming levels among the teenagers on whatsapp, Google chat, Facebook among others, during the April holidays.
