Twitter and Facebook extend search features

twitterTwitter has reviewed the apps’ search function for Android and iOS enabling users to find people by adding extra information rather than just their names. The site announced the change saying it will make it easier to find friends, celebrities and acquaintances. The search also includes all pictures labelled as public, even if they’ve been removed from the timeline.

The new system will also synchronize messages across devices unlike like before when they would appear as unread on one, even if read on another.

Meanwhile, Facebook has also extended their search function to focus on individuals, their preferences, interests, photos and other personal information unlike before where graph search was limited to pages and people.

For Facebook users, it will be much easier to look up for their friends, families, former workmates and schoolmates using the latest update search function.
