SEACOM reports that the latest damage to its cable network was successfully repaired on the 20th April and all circuits were restored to the core network as of the 23rd April. This was through a press release on their website which read:
The SEACOM cable network was successfully repaired on the 20th April and all circuits were restored to the core network as of the 23rd April.
SEACOM would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers, partners and peers for their collaboration and support during the outage.
Our partner network has informed us that the assigned cable ship worked in optimal weather conditions for the duration of their repairs. The cable was quickly lifted, the new cable spliced in, tested and re-laid thanks to close coordination between the ship crew and on-shore support.
SEACOM will continue striving to provide the most reliable service to our customers and to enable the rapid growth of the African Internet.”
