Orange awarded Telecom Company of the Year in Africa

Orange MauOrange have been recognised with the 2013 Africa Frost & Sullivan Telecom Company of the Year Award, for its execution of growth strategies and its commitment to offering quality services and products to customers.

The award recognizes a high degree of innovation with products and technologies and the resulting leadership in terms of customer value and market penetration.

Frost & Sullivan highlighted the unique strategy of development through initiatives such as Orange Horizons and partnerships with Nashua Mobile in South Africa and Visa in Botswana, with more countries to follow to roll out mobile money cards to be used at ATMs and online.

Léon-Charles Ciss, head of marketing for Africa, Middle-East & Asia, said: “This is something we take great pride in and is very encouraging for the teams working on the international expansion of our activity.

“I think that this honour allows us to show that our international development activities, our brand promotions activities and our innovations activities allow the Orange identity as an international operator reinforced.”

Frost & Sullivan attributed Orange’s success not only on innovations and customer-centric products, but also on visionary strategies and their robust implementation that has allowed steady market penetration.
