Editor’s Pick: Top 10 Most Visited Local Websites in Uganda
In our editor’s pick, we are looking at the top ten (10) visited websites in Uganda. However, we are filtering them to only Ugandan websites, and leaving out the obvious like Google, YouTube, Facebook, Yahoo, Wikipedia, Twitter, and BBC News, which top the list of the most visited websites in Uganda. In general, they do top in at least all the countries globally.
These rankings are got from web traffic data and analytics firm; Alexa Internet, Inc. – a subsidiary of Amazon.
According to the rankings, online media publishers Daily Monitor and New Vision topped the list in the first and second positions respectively. On the other hand, includes two betting platforms, two employment opportunities and vacancies platforms, two eCommerce platforms, a government institution, and a university.
The rankings were made according to: Daily Time on Site, Daily Pageviews per Visitor, Percentage of Traffic From Search, and Total Sites Linking In, where Daily Monitor tops with 5:23, 2.61, 25.70%, and 2,706 respectively with the last being Brighter Monday having 5:51, 3.49, 28.90%, and 21.
Ugandans are reading their newspapers online, visiting betting sites for tips, odds and more, shopping and selling their products online, while looking for employment opportunities and any job vacancies.
