Huawei’s Mate 10 Lite Phablet Launched With Four Cameras As Rumored

Shenzhen-based smartphone markers, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd, on Monday this week launched the awaited Mate 10 series, the Huwaei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, and Mate 10 Lite during a launch event the was held in Munich, Germany. However, the Mate 10 and the Mate 10 Pro, took all the spotlight, leaving the Mate 10 Lite aside.

Since the phablet was launched alongside the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, Huawei had to silently expand to its mid-range smartphone lineup by launching the Huawei Mate 10 Lite.

The new Mate 10 model priced at 399 Euros (approx. USD$470, 1,720,000 UGX) is the European variant of the previously launched Honor 9i, Huawei Maimang 6, and Huawei Nova 2i, all three of which included four camera sensors and are powered by Huawei’s in-house HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset. The firm is set to sell the Mate 10 Lite in Germany starting November.

As first reported by German site MobiFlip, the Mate 10 Lite is specifically designed for the European region, features a 5.9-inch display with full-HD+ resolution, has a minimal bezels on the left and right sides, two front camera sensors 13MP standard RGB sensor and a 2MP monochrome one, two rear camera sensors 16MP standard sensor and a 2MP monochrome, a HiSilicon Kirin 659 system-on-chip (SoC) that comes with eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores (four clocked at 2.36GHz and four at 1.7GHz), 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB Internal storage that can be expanded with a microSD card through the available hybrid SIM card slot, Android 7.0 Nougat on the Mate 10 Lite with its proprietary EMUI 5.1 on top.

In addition, the phablet also comes with a circular fingerprint sensor at the back just below the rear camera, and finally houses a 3,340mAh battery claimed to last for a day on a single charge. No reports indicate whether the phablet supports quick charging.

Despite the advancements through the four-camera setup and the almost bezel-less display, the Mate 10 Lite downgrades the experience with a Micro-USB port that would support as high-speed data transfer as a normal USB Type-C port.

The Huawei Mate 10 Lite is available in Prestige Gold, Graphite Black, and Aurora Blue color variants all priced at 399 Euros (approx. USD$470, 1,720,000 UGX).[related-posts]
