After it’s previous recruitment drives in Uganda, Andela has announced opening of applications for the Third Cohort in Kampala.
The first two rounds of recruitment which was announced in March and June respectively, attracted over 800 applicants into the Andela Uganda fellowship. Operations have commenced in the Andela Uganda fellowship and applications for the third Uganda cohort are currently open.
During the official launch in Kampala, Andela’s Chief Strategy Officer; Wambui Kinya said “Uganda represents a massive opportunity for Andela to equip the next generation of technologists and innovators in Kampala with the expertise they need to accelerate the advancement of their local communities through technology”.
With Andela’s Fellowship, developers will go through four years of intensive learning and real work experience on the world’s leading engineering teams, where they’ll master the professional and technical skills needed to become a global technology leader.
How to Apply:
Stage 1: Application and Aptitude Assessment
First, you’ll complete a free application, which lets Andela learn more about you. Within 48 hours of your application, you will receive an online evaluation that measures logical reasoning and personality fit.
Stage 2: Home Study
You’ll need to complete an introduction to software development self-study course focused on Python. You can find the downloadable version of this course here. During the course, you’ll complete a Technical Skills Test that will evaluate your knowledge of the content you’ve learned.
Stage 3: Panel Interviews
Based on performance on the Aptitude Assessment and Technical Skills Test, a select group of applicants will be invited to interview with Andela. If selected, you’ll receive an email one week prior inviting you to interview with a panel of staff members and other Andela developers.
Stage 4: One Week Immersive Onsite
Successful applicants participate in a one-week immersive onsite led by our senior developers. The one week is comprised of product development and you’ll be expected to learn independently as well as work on a team to deliver a final project.
Stage 5: Acceptance
The highest performing participants are accepted into Andela’s four-year Technical Leadership Program.
The company receives support from a number of investors such as the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative which helped Andela raise $24 million for its Series B funding last year.
The Andela Fellowship, will give Ugandan developers the opportunity to become world-class developers that will become team members at the top technology companies as with their Nigerian and Kenyan counterparts. A further step towards producing more exceptional African innovators.
Recruitment Schedule for Andela Uganda Cohort III
Application Deadline: 17th July 2017.
Home Study Test: The Home Study test is a requirement for making it through our selection process. Applicants are advised to study and complete the Home Study Curriculum before their test.
Interview Dates: August 7th – 11th August 2017
Boot camp: August 28th – 1st September 2017
Andela Uganda Fellowship: October 2nd, 2017 – October 2nd, 2021
