YouTubers on Mobile With Over 1000 Subscribers Can Now Go LIVE

Google-owned video sharing platform; YouTube for six years supported live streaming of video which was limited to computers. And early this month, they finally rolled out the mobile live streaming feature to every creator with more than 10,000 subscribers, ramping up a challenge against Facebook Live and Twitter’s Periscope in the live-streaming arena.

However, looks like the San Bruno-California based firm didn’t find it fair enough. If a YouTuber has to wait to have over 10,000 subscribers to go LIVE, thus YouTube is now letting anyone with a minimum subscriber base of 1,000 subscribers to enable mobile live streaming. This was confirmed by the company (Google) in a YouTube support page.

For one thing we ought to know, mobile live-streaming has grown in popularity in these past years, especially after social media giants like Facebook (Facebook Live) and Twitter (Periscope) adopted the feature first. So YouTube couldn’t risk falling back.

How-To go live:

YouTubers have to first enable the live streaming option in Creator Studio tools (located at the top-right corner).
Open the YouTube mobile app on Android (6.0 or higher) or iOS (iOS 8 or higher) and hit the capture button and start live streaming. YouTube will also keep an archive of the stream and you’ll have the option to edit the privacy settings or delete the archive.[related-posts]

Late in February, YouTube confirmed that one billion hours of videos are watched every single day on YouTube, and we believe that with this new YouTube feature, the numbers will increase rapidly.
