David Lutalo’s “Manya” single grew in popularity with 10,964 new downloads in October to win the MTN CallerTune of the Month award for the second time. The same song garnered 6,692 unique downloads to win the prize for the most downloaded MTN CallerTune for the month of September in the on-going MTN CallerTunez Online awards initiative.

“We are pleased to once again reward David Lutalo for his great song Manya that has become a household tune to MTN customers and music lovers across Uganda. Manya has truly grown into a massive tune on our CallerTunez portal from 6,692 new downloads in September to 10,964 new downloads in October. It’s exciting to note that our customers appreciate Ugandan music and are consuming it in innovative ways like through MTN CallerTunez,” said MTN’s Chief Marketing Officer, Ms. Mapula Bodibe.

David Lutalo becomes the first artiste to win MTN CallerTune of the month for two consecutive months. He will get UGX. 2.5M from MTN Uganda as an appreciation for his efforts. Rema Namakula was the first winner of the MTN CallerTunez Award in the inaugural month of August with her song Muchuzi.

“It’s a blessing that I have once again won the MTN CallerTune of the Month in the ongoing MTN CRBT online awards. I am grateful to MTN Uganda for creating the awards which are clearly improving and extending our music’s reach. CallerTunez offer Artistes with a revenue generating alternative more so now when there is no copyright laws implementation and our CD sales continue to decrease.” Remarked David Lutalo.

To participate in the CallerTunez online awards, customers simply need to dial *170*2# and download a CallerTune of their choice at only UGX. 550 per month. Lucky customers that participate in downloading CallerTunez stand a chance to win up to UGX 1,000,000 and Huawei devices every month.

On his part, Korubare Fulugyensiyo, a resident of Isingiro and winner of MTN CallerTunez customer of the month of October commented, “I am very happy to have won a Huawei Tablet but happier that MTN Uganda always promises and delivers.
