Tigo Rwanda launches TV streaming service

Tigo Rwanda has announced an exclusive partnership with iROKOtv, which is the largest legal distributor of African movies.

Under the agreement, iROKOtv  will provide a subscription-based digital entertainment service for Tigo 4G wireless customers.

Subscribers will have unlimited access to IROKOtv’s Video on Demand archive.

The streaming service was  launched at the same time with TIGO’s 4G LTE internet service.

Prepaid customers will part with Rwf 20,000 monthly for two gigabytes (GB) of internet data while the postpaid clients will be paying Rwf 50,000 and Rwf 215,000 for 4.5 GB and 20 GB respectively.

The 4G technology was commercially launched in October last year through a private public partnership between government and Korea Telecom (KT) to deploy a high-speed 4G broadband network covering 95 per cent of Rwandans in three years.

Subscribers can sign up for 4G services at iROKOtv at Tigo’s Kigali City Tower service centre.
