Microsoft set to preview Windows 9 on 30 September

windows-9Software giant Microsoft is expected to unveil Windows 9 at a press event in San Francisco on 30 September.

This is after the company rolling out event invites which was asking for invitees to join them to hear what’s next for Windows and the enterprise.

The event will be headed by Microsoft Corporate Vice President (Operating Systems Group at Microsoft), Joe Belfiore, and Executive Vice President of Operating Systems, Terry Myerson.

The event is expected to see the release of the Technical Preview version of Windows 9 with a completely redesigned Start menu, virtual desktops feature, and a revamped Notification Center alongside improved and flattened icons.

The public version of Windows 9 is not expected to see the day of light until sometime in April 2015, though avid fans of Windows and developers alike will get a glimpse of the future desktop operating system at the event on 30 September.

Recently leaked screenshots and videos of Windows Technical Preview also hint at the probable features coming to Windows 9.

Microsoft is expected to unify Windows Phone and Desktop UI experience with a completely revamped interface wherein the Metro UI will dominate the tablets with fewer traditional desktop elements, while Desktop computers will see more of traditional desktop UI elements and fewer Metro UI.
