Nigeria Gets Merchant Registration On Google Play Store

Google playNigeria has become the first Sub-Saharan African Country to get Merchant Registration on Google Play Store. This means developers in Nigeria can now register for Merchant Accounts and be able to sell their apps or do In-App purchases.

Nigeria and Egypt are the only 2 African Countries where developers can now collect money from selling apps on the play store. Nigeria will be using USD (United States Dollar) and Egypt will be using Egyptian Pounds (EGP).

This brings the list of countries that can access the Merchant Registration to 54 countries. If you want to sell apps now and you are in Nigeria or Egypt all you have to do is setup your account at $25 and you then you can setup your Merchant account.
