Google Announces Semi Finalists for the Apps Developer Challenge 2012

With all the events going on in the technology industry, this is one of the many that could have probably been left with not as much attention and yet its of great significance to the apps development industry.

On the 5th of June 2012, Google  in collaboration with its Google Developer Groups (also known as GTUGs) and Google Business Groups announced this year’s Google Apps Developer Challenge which gave an opportunity to “coders” to make use of their skills to earn themselves the $20,000 USD  prize money.

According to the official  Google page, the first round of submission closed on 24th August,the list of semi finalists was announced on 13th September while the latest announcement on 25th October was the re-submission of updated semi-final apps.

Among some of the apps that made it to the semi Final List in Sub Saharan Africa include:

DocTracker, an app from Uganda that manages incoming and outgoing office document records.

NomiaPro,  an app from Ghana which  is a web application that will help businesses organize all their conferences delegates

Form+,  an app from Nigeria This application brings the power of Google Drive to forms.
